Sparta hosted Slovácko in Letná in the 4th round of the title group. Both teams already knew their final positions in the league table before this match. Sparta is going to finish the season in the 3rd and Slovácko in the 4th place. Spartans played actively in the first half and created a few interesting chances. Sparta took the lead after Hancko scored the penalty kick. Slovácko played actively in the second half. Holzer and Havlík turned the result in the visitors’ favour. Sparta lost 1-2.
These teams have played two games against each other during the regular season and each team won its home match. Sparta changed the head coach a few days before this game. Pavel Vrba was replaced by Michal Horňák, the coach of our B-team. The new coach made six changes in comparison to the previous match in Plzeň. Suchomel, Vydra, Souček, Karabec, Haraslín and Minčev were in the starting line-up instead of Wiesner, Vitík, Sáček, LK37, Hložek and Čvančara. Pavelka, Čelůstka, and Panák were not available for this game due to health problems.
Sparta created the first chance after eleven minutes when Pešek sent a long pass and found Minčev's head. However, the Bulgarian striker missed the goal.
We have seen more interesting moments in the first 30 minutes, but both defensive lines worked reliably, and we did not see any bigger opportunities.
Dočkal was fouled in the penalty area. The referee had a clear view of the situation and whistled the penalty kick in the 31st minute. Hancko took the ball and shot it to the opposite side than Borek decided to jump. Sparta took the lead 1-0!
Dočkal created an opportunity for Højer in the 35th minute. His attempt had a good direction, but it was tackled to the corner by one of the away players. Minčev won the ball and was able to shoot from the following standard situation. Borek was ready and caught it without any bigger troubles.
Vecheta tried to score with a shot from behind the penalty area in the 44th minute, but it tightly missed the left post of the Heča's goal.
Haraslín could have added the second goal for his team in the last minute of the first half. His attempt was headed to the further post, but it needed a few more centimetres to change the score. It was the last interesting moment in the first half.
Slovácko had a good start to the second half and showed a nice combination in the 54th minute. Holzer was at the end of it. He faced Heča and did not give him any chance, 1-1.
Minčev shot from a good position seven minutes later, but his attempt went high above the crossbar.
The away team caused problems for our defensive line in the 68th minute. The unclear situation in the penalty area led to the corner kick.
Sparta was close to scoring a goal four minutes later. Hložek with a dangerous header after the corner kick, however, he tightly missed the right post.
Slovácko performed a fast counterattack after our standard situation while Vecheta had a big opportunity on his head. Heča saved Sparta and boxed it to the corner.
Heča with another great save in the 78th minute. Havlík was close to him, but he was not able to score.
Havlík tried his luck from the corner of the penalty area in the 81st minute and it went in, 1-2.
Kalabiška sent a long ball to Tomič. His finish was from a difficult position, and he was not able to hit the goal.
Hložek with a nice individual action in the 90th minute. His shot missed the target by a few millimetres.
We did not see any other attempts in this match. Slovácko won 2-1 in Letná.
