With the national team coming in a week, let’s take a look at Sparta players called-up to represent their countries in the World Cup 2014 qualification games and friendlies.
Czech national team (World Cup 2014 qualification)
- Tomáš Vaclík, Ladislav Krejčí, David Lafata
- 22/3 vs. Denmark (in Olomouc, CZE), 26/3 vs. Armenia (in Yerevan, ARM)
- Vaclík is probably not going to make the starting eleven in both matches, as Petr Čech is the number one in the goal. Both Krejčí and Lafata scored in the last match of the Czech national team in Turkey and their chances to play in the upcoming two games are pretty high.
Cameroon national team (World Cup 2014 qualification)
- Léonard Kweuke
- 23/3 vs. Togo (in Yaoundé, CAM)
- Leo has already been called up to the national team a couple of times, but the competition in the squad of the African team is tough. Eto’o, Choupo Moting and Ndjeng were also called up for the match at Léo’s birthplace, Yaoundé.
Czech U21 (friendlies)
- Matěj Hybš, Roman Polom, Adam Jánoš, Tomáš Přikryl, Václav Kadlec, Jiří Skalák (on loan in Slovácko), Jakub Brabec (on loan in Brno)
- 22/3 vs. Ukraine (in Mladá Boleslav, CZE), 26/3 vs. Turkey (in Pilsen, CZE)
- Kadlec was expected to make the first team squad, however, he was called-up to the U21 team for two friendlies. The Czech U21 national team has already qualified, as the U21 EURO 2015 takes place in the Czech Republic.
Youth national teams
- U19 (21/3 vs. Netherlands, friendly) – Aleš Čermák, Lukáš Juliš, Ondřej Karafiát.
- U18 (training camp) – Jiří Vokoun, Milan Kadlec, Martin Matoušek.
- U17 (EURO qualifiers vs. Israel, Poland & Switzerland) - Jindřich Staněk, Vojtěch Vorel, Patrik Schick, Martin Toml.
