No matter where we play, we still want to win
The game SK Rapid Vienna against AC Sparta Prague is scheduled for Tuesday 20th of July in the Allianz Stadion in the capital of Austria. The press conference related to this game was held a day before. Questions, on Sparta's side, were answered by the head coach Pavel Vrba and midfielder David Pavelka.
Pavel Vrba
About the importance of the match: “I have to say that we respect the power of Rapid. I realize it is such an important double match for us. These are one of the most important games in my whole career.”
About Rapid: “Rapid has a good quality. This club fights for the title every year and has huge ambitions in European cups. It is the team with their own face and knows what they want to play. Rapid often plays for counterattacks, but they will not definitely play in a huge defensive, they will be active. We need to be careful because they have a lot of strong aspects in their offensive. We need to do our best to be able to pass through Rapid.”
About the influence of the match: “My experiences are not important in these games. The most important factor is how we react to the quality of our opponent on the pitch. I am really happy about the presence of supporters at the stadium, I was missing such an atmosphere.”
About chances to win: “Who has a better chance to win? I think these teams are very equal. Rapid has its own quality and we have our own too. The league path is very difficult, there is not a weak opponent.”
David Pavelka
About Rapid: “Rapid is an aggressive and compact team with a fast crossing. They have a great pressing. It is a difficult and very strong opponent. We were talking about what may work against them. But the most important element is how we deal with them on the pitch. We have enough information about them, now it is on us to put them into practice.”
About the health conditions: “Our team is in good health conditions after a very long time. Most of us have done the whole summer preparation. I believe we will benefit from that during the season.”
About chances to win: “I see the chances 50/50. We know what Rapid’s strengths are, but we have sufficient quality to handle these games. We reached many experiences during the last season, now is the right time to use them.”
“No matter where we play, we still want to win. We also have the same goal for tomorrow's game. Everything else would work against us.”
