The ACS management dismissed Zdeněk Ščasný
Zdeněk Ščasný was dismissed from the position of head coach during the night after loss in the semifinals of the MOL Cup with Slavia. Current assistant Michal Horňák together with his colleagues from the coaching crew will lead the first team during the league round on Saturday.
Michal Horňák as a player won 10 titles in the red jersey. He becomes a temporary ACS head coach for the weekend league match. The club will communicate next steps to fans and public after the final conclusion.
"The situation after the matches with Karvina and Slavia was bad and we had to make an immediate decision. We decided to dismiss the coach because the results and our performance were very bad," said AC Sparta Praha CEO František Čupr. "We will now consider the options for the position of head coach. We will make a decision during the end of the league or before the next season,” added Čupr.
"I would like to thank Zdeněk for his work. I know how much he wanted to be successful with the club. We go through difficult period as a club and it was not easy for him as a coach. In any case the team must show much better performances than in the last two matches," said ACS Sports Director Tomáš Rosický.
Horňák leads the first team during the Thursday's training. The club management announced dismiss of the coach to the players before the morning training unit.
