The Finnish midfielder has grown up in Inter Turku, for whom he made his debut at the age of 15 and became the second youngest player in the club's first team history. In the past he has also played for Midtjylland, Skive IK and Finland's most successful club HJK Helsinki. Kaan has been through all youth national team categories. He played 19 games with the U21 team and scored four goals. He then made his debut for the first team in January 2019 in a friendly against Sweden. He last wore the jersey of Norway's Lillestrøm, with whom he finished fourth in the Eliteserien table. He scored one goal and added three assists in 22 league games. He added four starts in the Europa Conference League. He joined Sparta in the middle of the 2022/23 season.
