Twenty-five years old Danish goalkeeper Peter Vindahl comes to Letná from AZ Alkmaar on a loan with an option to a permanent transfer. Welcome to Sparta, Peter!
"Matěj Kovář, together with his agency and Manchester United, continue to consider how his career will continue. We wanted to be part of it, but at this moment we can't wait any longer, because the peak of our summer, the Champions League qualification, is approaching. As I already said during the training camp in Austria, if we can't bring Matěj now, we have to react to it," says AC Sparta Praha sports director Tomáš Rosický.
"Peter has experience from foreign leagues and European cups. He is a goalkeeper who has the physical parameters and abilities that we need for this position. We have watched his performances in the last season on second Bundesliga many times," says Rosický about Vindahl's arrival at Sparta.
Vindahl was part of the Nordsjælland Academy since he was seventeen years old. At the same club, he also started to collect his first experiences with adult football. He managed to add 53 starts in the Danish Superliga and another three games in the national cup.
In the summer of 2021, he made a transfer to AZ Alkmaar, where he signed a four-year contract. In his first season in the Dutch league, he made an appearance in 48 games. Eight of them were in the European Conference league, where he also managed to have four clean sheets.
In the next season, he went on loan to Nuremberg. In the German club, he also faced Sparta in the friendly game at Letná, where he also watched the first league round against Sigma Olomouc. Now he is going to add more matches at epet ARENA, but now in the right jerseys.
Wish you the best of luck, Peter!
