Sparta will face Steaua Bucuresti in the Champions League 3rd qualifying round, as the draw in Nyon decided on Friday.
First leg will be played either 26 or 27 July in Prague, second leg a week later – either 2 or 3 August – in Bucuresti. Kick-off times will be specified soon.
The tickets info will be released in the upcoming days.
Steaua secured the spot in the third qualifier as a second team of Romanian top division last season. Despite finishing fifth in the regular season, the managed to climb all the way to the second spot in the Championship round.
Steaua haven’t lost in the summer pre-season. The started with a draw with Dinamo Zagreb, but then managed to beat Turnisce, Nijmegen, Charleroi, Samara and PAOK. Steaua start their season with a League cup fixture against Concordia this Sunday.
Laurentiu Reghecampf is the team manager, leading a number of players representing Romania on the last European championship in France – Chipciu, Stanciu, Popa and more. Fernando Varela is the team captain.
Steaua play their home matches at the Nationala Arena with a capacity of 55634 spectators.
