It’s been six years since Sparta played their last league match in Jihlava. Back then, Tomáš Sivok scored the only goal to secure a 1-0 lead. This time, however, both teams managed to put one in and Sparta only drew 1-1.
Švejdík, Vidlička and Kweuke were missing in the starting lineup, even though they managed to get better and were ready on the bench. Peter Grajciar got his chance, as well as Balaj and Holek. On the other side, Sparta’s legend Jaromír Blažek was in Jihlava’s goal and celebrated his 400th league match before the kick-off.
The first minutes were a bit nervous, as players of the both teams were slowly getting the pace. The home side’s Šourek failed to score in the first chance of the match, Vaclík made a huge save after a corner from the right.
And it was Sparta to open the score. Balaj found Kadlec with a brilliant pass behind the defence and young attacker scored from a break away – 0-1.
However, Sparta failed to stay in lead once again. After another corner the ball got to Tecl who had no problems to score the equaliser – 1-1.
Sparta put the home side under a huge pressure in the second half and also had a couple of good chances, but could not score. That’s why they got only one point for a 1-1 draw.
