We had several changes in the line-up compared to the match with Zlín. Instead of booked Mandjeck started Štetina. Frýdek was on the left back and trio Dočkal, Sáček and Krejčí were in the middle of the field.
Karlsson had a first chance. The Swedish wingman went through the defence of the guests and fired. The ball went above.
In the eleventh minute, Baník did not have anything from a free kick and we threatened from the break. Tetteh quickly fired between Stronati's legs, but the ball went out.
In 17th minute Dočkal sent a free kick and Štetina returned the ball to the box. Dočkal ended but his well-aimed shot didn't get through.
Then we went to the lead. After the corner, Frýdek got to the ball and was looking Hložek and Hancko by a beautiful cross. Hancko gave us the lead by great header.
Another our chance came five minutes before the break. Vindheim cooperated with Karlsson on the right. He fired again from the box line. His attempt failed.
Home dominance in the first half could be confirmed by Tetteh, who hit the ball in the air with a heel. The falling ball passed Laštůvka but ended on the top net of his goal.
In the 53rd minute came another our goal, which probably was inevitable. Baník was passive and let Sparta play. After a short corner, Karlsson got to the ball near goal line, sent a technical cross through the small box, and Tetteh sent it into the net!
Another hit for Baník came in the 61st minute. Sparta had a free kick, then Šašinka fouled in the box saw a second yellow card. Sparta had a penalty that David Moberg Karlsson scored!
Dočkal had another huge chance ten minutes later. He got the ball from Frýdek after a nice combination. But not guarded by anyone sent the ball right next to the goal.
However, the audience celebrated a minute later, when Martin Frýdek scored a beautiful goal! He led the ball through the penalty area, prepared it to the right and shot a technical behind Laštůvka!
And we have seen the fifth one! The beautiful cross by Bořek Dočkal flew over Kozák but Hložek knew what to do and overcame the completely helpless Laštůvka!
Another chance came two minutes before the end. Hancko passed the ball through the middle and Hložek went to Laštůvka. He reduced the shooting angle and hit the ball.
Sparta defeated Banik 5-0 and is in the semifinals of the MOL Cup!
