The 25-year-old midfielder arrives from Venezia FC
Danish midfielder Magnus Kofod Andersen is our new player. The 25-year-old Nordsjaelland academy graduate joins Sparta from the Italian Serie A team Venezia FC, for whom he played 14 league matches this season. He has signed a multi-year contract at Letná.
Magnus was born on May 10, 1999, in Hundested, located in the northern part of the Danish island of Sjælland. He took his first football steps at the local club before moving at the age of twelve to Farum, where Nordsjaelland is based. In the academy of the Danish champions from the 2011/12 season, he progressed through all the youth categories, eventually earning a place in the Danish U18 and U19 national teams.
During the 2017/18 season, Kofod Andersen made his breakthrough into senior football, debuting for Nordsjaelland’s first team at the age of eighteen. He quickly became a key player in the midfield and retained his position in the following season, during which he also wore the captain’s armband. His performances earned him a spot at the U21 European Championship, where he was joined by his Nordsjaelland teammate and our current goalkeeper Peter Vindahl.
The next three seasons saw Magnus as a consistent presence in the red-and-yellow colors of Nordsjaelland, where he played alongside talents such as Mikkel Damsgaard and Mohammed Kudus. He also scored several goals in the Danish Superliga. In May 2022, it was announced that after his contract with Nordsjaelland expired, Magnus would embark on his first international experience, signing with Venezia FC.
After two seasons in Serie B, the team from the historic city managed to secure promotion to Serie A by defeating Palermo and Cremonese in the playoffs. In the opening match of the season, Magnus scored against Lazio, though his team lost 1:3. In the following thirteen Serie A matches he played, he added an assist against Monza.
Magnus, we look forward to seeing you at Letná!
