Just a few days ago, he changed his shirt number — and now our new "11" has signed a new contract. Matěj Ryneš has committed his future to Sparta. Ryny, we’re looking forward to your performances in the upcoming seasons!
"Sparta is close to my heart. I'm grateful for every opportunity I've been given here, and that makes me appreciate even more the chance to continue. I've experienced beautiful moments with the club — title celebrations, the atmosphere of big matches — and I still have a huge desire to win more trophies. I’ll do everything I can to keep helping the club," said Matěj Ryneš after signing his new contract at Letná.
Matěj joined the Sparta academy at the age of 17. After making his debut with the B-team, he earned his first minutes for the first team in the autumn of 2021, appearing in three domestic cup matches. The following year brought more milestones — a first league appearance against Slovácko and his debut in European competition away to Viking FK.
The 2022/23 season saw Ryny spend the year on loan at Hradec Králové, where he gained valuable experience by playing 25 league matches, scoring three goals and providing four assists. Upon returning to Letná, he immediately made his presence felt. In August 2024, he fulfilled a childhood dream by scoring his first goal in Sparta colours in front of a full Letná crowd. At the end of the campaign, he celebrated winning the domestic double.
Ryny started last season in great form, scoring in the opening match against Pardubice. He followed that up with a brilliant strike away at Malmö, helping Sparta qualify for the Champions League league stage. In September 2024, he made his debut for the national team. Unfortunately, he had to be subbed off after 26 minutes due to back pain. The rest of the season was also, unfortunately, disrupted by injuries.
Ryny, congratulations on your new deal. We can’t wait to see you back on the pitch soon!
