Boys

The boys’ section of the Academy consists of twelve categories - from U7 to U19. These are divided into four phases: Fun phase (U7-U9), Development phase (U10-U13), Performance phase (U14-U17) and the Professional phase (U19). All Spartan teams have their facilities at the training centre at Strahov, where they also play their home matches.

"The main task at this stage is to comprehensively develop gifted young footballers in a fun way so that we support and further not only their love and relationship with football, but also with Sparta. The joy from the game itself is the first and the most important step in turning a young football player into a great Sparta player.”

Development Phase

“In the Development phase of our young, talented athletes, we loosely build on the work of our colleagues from the Fun phase, where our goal is not only to deepen the player's relationship with football and his love for Sparta. At the same time we help the athlete to bridge the difficult period of transition into the second half of primary school and at the same time to add gas from the point of increasing demands in terms of sports training. A big task for all coaches at this stage is to take the footballer from the small forms of football and gradually into the biggest one. Players at this stage of development experience football on pitches 6+1, 7+1, 8+1 and the final output is 10+1. This in itself places high demands on the right balance of emphasis on the individual development of the player and gradually increasing the demands on team cooperation, which the coaches primarily work on in the Performance phase.”

“The priority of the Performance phase is certainly tactical education in the 10+1 format, but complex individual development and consolidation of technique cannot be neglected either. Fitness aspects, strength development and developmental changes due to puberty must go hand in hand with respecting the biological age. Education is also an important aspect. Preparing the boys for entrance exams with the transition into secondary school is not an easy task, but we place all the more emphasis on it.”

"The Professional phase, which includes the U19 category, is the pinnacle of youth football at our academy. Its goal is the development and preparation of players for senior football, to which the conditions and the training process correspond. Important in this regard is cooperation not only within the club, but also with the schools where our boys study, and which are accommodating to our needs. The demands on the players at this stage are already similar to what the coaches of the A-team and B-team require. We work very closely together.
