Birmančević joins Sparta

Twenty-five years old midfielder comes from the French league

Two months ago, a twenty-five-year-old Serbian midfielder celebrated winning the French national cup, now is prepared for the new challenge, which waits for him at Letná where he moves on a loan with an option.
"Veljko is a dynamic offensive footballer who we can include in the formation on the wing and in the under-the-line position. He has quality dribbling, he knows how to attack, and at the same time he uses it for defense," says AC Sparta Praha sports director Tomáš Rosický. "In his career, he has already gathered valuable experience from the qualification and group stage of European cups, including the Champions League."
Veljko’s football journey started at Partizan Belgrade, where he made his professional debut in 2016. After his first league premier, he went on loan to Radu, where he in 2018 also scored his first goal, then he spent some time at Čukarički, where he as a young player gather a lot of playing experiences.
After one season he changed his Belgrade address permanently and eventually spent in white&gold Jersey three years, during which he managed to play 83 matches and fifteen times got the ball into the net. In the season 2020/2021 Birmančević became the team's best scorer, which got him under the radar of European clubs.
The young winger moved to Sweden, where he wore a Jersey of the Malmö FC. The beginning of the new chapter turned into a fairy tale. Birmančević scored nine goals, added three assists, and, more importantly, won the league title. In the next season, he and his teammates made something fabulous, they went through all of the Champions League qualifying rounds and eventually got to the group stage, where they played matches against famous European clubs such as Juventus or Chelsea. In the beloved European competition, he wrote to his personal stats six goals and another two assists.
After winning the Swedish national cup in 2022 Veljko moved to the south, and in a few months added another national cup into his collection, this time French, which he conquered in the Jersey of Toulouse. Now is the twenty-five-year-old Serbian midfielder prepared for the new challenge, which waits for him at Letné, where he moves on a loan with an option.
