Winning start to the league phase

After three years, we returned to the UEFA Europa League, opening this season’s league phase away at Ararat-Armenia. The hosts made the brighter start, with a shot in the 10th minute ending with the ball hitting the post behind Jakub Surovčík. It was Sparta, however, who eventually took control of the match. Midway through the first half, Tobias Guddal scored twice from corners delivered by Adam Karabec. Both sides found the net after the break, but Patrik Vydra restored our three-goal advantage.
