Michal Horňák had his premiere match as a temporary Sparta coach. He chose Radaković and Štetina as centre backs, Karlsson and Hašek as midfielders.
Opava coach Ivan Kopecký surprisingly substituted in the third minute. Stáňa left the game and showed no signs of injury. He was replaced by Schaffartzik.
A nice performance from the beginning by Sparta. But the first chance came after half an hour. Hanousek got to the ball in the middle of the field. He tried it by his weaker right foot and scored the first league goal in his career!
Václav Drchal then had two chances. First after Hanousek pass, but Drchal missed the goal. He tried it again after the short time. The ball made problems for Šrom but he stopped it.
Another opportunity was by Karlsson’s counterattack. He finished his solo with a shot. But it went exactly to Šrom.
At the end of the first Opava had a chance to equalize. Zavadil fired out of the box and Radaković stopped the shot by good tackle.
In the beginning of the second half we had a great possibility. Hložek started a counterattack, offered the ball to Karlsson and then passed to Hašek. His attempt went out of the goal.
Karlsson had a great opportunity to score after 60 minutes. But his shot was too slow. Right after that we had a quick break. Sáček nicely got to the box, passed to Karlsson who easily sent the ball to the net!
After the second goal Martin Frýdek had another chance The Spartan captain jumped after a corner kick but the ball went just wide.
So the spectators waited for the end of the match but Hložek sent the ball to Drchal and Spartan striker then crowned hilarious Spartan performance by third goal.
The last minute of the match was also great for young Pavel Hájek because he come to the first league match!
Sparta won 3-0 in Opava and will go to the added part of the league from the third place with six points difference!
