Win with another clean sheet
Sparta won the first home match of 2021, when we defeated Mladá Boleslav 1-0 at Letná. David Moberg Karlsson decided about our victory. Even in the third match of the new year, Sparta kept the clean sheet and did not concede a goal in the league for 327 minutes. Head coach Václav Kotal coached his 200th league match.
Sparta started with a 3-5-2 line-up. Ondřej Čelůstka returned to the basic line-up after injury, Adam Karabec or David Pavelka played in the midfield. On the other hand, Captain Bořek Dočkal remained only on the bench.
The guests had their first chance. In the 12th minute, Jiří Klíma got through Hancko, referee and run towards the goal. Nita bas ready and the striker sent only weak shot.
Ten minutes later, Boleslav had a great chance. Preisler crossed from the left side and Jiří Klíma aimed only next to the left post.
Sparta's huge chance came after less than half an hour. Hanousek got to the great cross by Vindheim. Hany ended but the goalie saved Boleslav by a great save.
In the 37th minute Hancko took the ball and run to the goal, then passed to Pavelka which fired. His attempt went next to the left post.
Just before a break, Karlsson played a free kick and hit the post. So 0-0 at the half-time.
Ten minutes after the break came another great opportunity for Sparta! Julda fired from near the penalty spot, but goalie Diviš stopped the ball.
Then it came! In the 58th minute, David Pavelka got the ball to the box, and passed to the place where Spartans were. Juliš and Karlsson fired, but it was Swedish footballer which sent the ball to the net.
Thenty minutes before the end came huge chances. At first, Karlsson fired near the penalty spot, Diviš stopped the ball and Juliš tried it again. Even this time, the goalkeeper was successful. After the next corner, Čelůstka sent the ball to the net but it was offside.
Five minutes before the end, the fantastic Florin Nita pulled Ladra's shot from a distance, which was aimed at the gallows. No more happened and Sparta defeated Boleslav at home for the fourth time in a row.
