Lose at the beginning of spring
Sparta did not handle first spring match and lost at home 0-2 to Liberec. Despite the number of chances in the first half, we did not succeed, while Malinský scored by two breaks in the second half.
Coach Jílek sent the same line-up to the pitch as in the last pre-season. Bořek Dočkal returned to the match after a long injury. David Bičík was on the bench and replaced injured Florin Nita.
Dočkal played free kick after a foul on Frýdek in the sixth minute. The ball, he sent into the box was too long for all Spartans and was stopped by Nguyen.
In the nineteenth minute, the fans saw the first great opportunity. Trávník passed to Dočkal on the right side, he crossed to Hložek, who did not get to the shot.
The next huge chance came after few minutes. Vindheim passed to Tetteh, who then prepared it for Trávník. He overshot from a good position.
Immediately after that, Tetteh run near the line, got to the box and sent the ball to his teammates. But none of the three Spartans could reach the ball in front of the empty goal.
Another opportunity was prepared by Martin Frýdek. At first he tried cross, the ball bounced to him and so shot but Nguyen was ready.
The guests did not have much chances but five minutes before the break came one big. Pešek got through Vindheim and shot to ready Heča.
Spartans then threatened two more times, first time Hložek didn’t get the ball to the box. Then Vindheim crossed and Krejčí missed the ball. Half-time ended without goals.
At the start of the second half, we were lucky, Heča did not keep the cross from the right side and Hancko cleaned the situation.
In the 54th minute, Hancko almost gave the visitors the lead, when lost the ball and the guests had a chance. Baluta ended up outside of the goal.
In the 62nd minute Tetteh gave the ball to Hložek, who went to the goal. Mikula consistently defended him and did not allow him to shoot or cross and blocked the ball to the corner.
Slovan threatened from breaks and one of them unfortunately ended in the Spartan net. Lischka did not get the ball, let Malinský go alone, he did not give Heča chance by hard shot.
Benjamin Tetteh had a great chance in the end, but the ball went out.
In the end, Sparta played on the opponent’s side and had an opened defence. Malinský after another break chopped Heča and closed the match.
