Our head coach Zdeněk Ščasný made six changes in the line-up after match with Karviná. Milan Heča took the place of Nita in the goal, Ondřej Zahustel played on the right side of defence instead of Chipciu and Lukáš Štetina replaced Radaković in the middle of defence. Martin Hašek, Guélor Kanga and Srdjan Plavšić substituted Sáček, Karlsson and Ćivić.
Sparta started actively and had two corner kicks in the beginning of the match. The first option had home team. Captain Hušbauer fired out of the box and Heča had no problem.
In the 9th minute Slavia played quick counterattack but the van Buren was stopped by Heča. Our goalie also saved Olayinka's shot.
After 16 minutes Souček headed out of the goal. A minute later Kanga sent ball to Drchal. But offside stopped the action.
In the 25th minute Hušbauer sent a free kick to the box. Tomáš Souček headed the ball to the net and opened the score. Another chance for home team after ten minutes. Hušbauer passed to Bořil and his attempt went out of the goal.
Hanousek crossed to the box and Spartans wanted a penalty after hand in the penalty area. The referee didn't order a penalty after an advice from the VAR. Three minutes before the break Adam Hložek fired but the defenders stopped his shot.
In the added time Hušbauer played a corner kick and scored the second goal for Slavia. In the end of the first half Frýdek saw a red card after the foul but the referee changed the verdict after watching the video and showed a yellow card to the Spartan midfielder.
In the beginning of the second half the fans had two chances and Milan Heča saved us. In the 51st minute van Buren sent the ball to Masopust who scored to the empty net.
After 60 minutes, van Buren went alone to Heča which stopped him. A similar situation happened 15 minutes before the end. This time van Buren hit the bar.
In the added time Kanga didn’t get the ball to Tetteh which was in the good position. In the end, Milan Heča saved us by great tackle. Sparta was eliminated from the MOL Cup after 0-3 loss.
