The head coach Václav Jílek sent David Hancko to the line-up for the first time. He replaced Matěj Hanousek on the left side. David Moberg Karlsson started for the first time from the first round and Kozák returned to the attack. Home team missed the best striker of the last season Nikolaj Komličenko.
Boleslav had their first chance in the third minute. Kanga lost the ball in the middle, Matějovský started a counterattack and at the end Mešanović went to Nita. But the former Slavia striker missed the goal.
Sparta showed a nice and quick action in the twelfth minute. Costa found Kanga in the open space, he passed to Plavšić. He got through the defender and fired but his attempt was blocked by another defending player.
After a quarter of an hour came a critical moment. Štetina played by hand in the box and the referee Franěk ordered a penalty after consulting with VAR. Muris Mešanović sent the home team to the lead.
In the twenty-first minute Trávník started a counterattack on the right side, passed to Kanga, which crossed to the box. Plavšić jumped, headed but missed the goal.
A moment later Trávník offered the ball to Kozák in the middle of the field. Kozák was alone in the box but did not get the ball ready for the shooting and Šeda took it from him. Another chance for us. Karlsson sent the corner kick to Hancko's head, the ball fell exactly to the rear pole and it was leveled. What a league premiere in Sparta!
After a free kick, Kanga passed the ball to Karlsson, who tried to surprise Šeda with an unexpected left shot. But he only hit the side net. Boleslav was under pressure, but it was again us who got the goal. The home team got the ball in the middle of the pitch, Bucha found Matějovský completely free. He then crossed to Mešanović, who scored his second goal in the match. So we lost one goal at half time.
After the pause, there was another great opportunity for Libor Kozák. Kanga offered him the ball and Kozák shot but too high.
After an hour we played a corner kick, Costa headed but missed. After 73 minutes Tetteh started a counter after home team corner. But again the ball flew over the goal. One minute later, we equalized. Again it was from the corner, this time Tetteh pushed through Pudil and it was 2-2.
However, the Spartan defence was not concentrated after the goal. Mešanović went through and completed hat-trick. Ten minutes before the end the video came again. The referee watched the situation in the box of Boleslav, where Štetina was in contact with Matějovský. Franěk did not order a penalty kick for Sparta.
In the sixty-eighth minute came the third Spartan equalize in the match. Štetina found Kozák in the box and he finally scored for the first time.
A moment later Hašek send a dangerous shot from behind the box, but goalkeeper Šeda stopped his attempt. Lukáš Budínský came into play in the final minutes and it seemed that Boleslav want only make a tactical change. But Mešanović passed to Budínský and he gave the final hit to us. Unfortunately Sparta din’t take a point in Boleslav, we lost 3-4.
