Sparta announces second new player for the next season! The Bulgarian offensive footballer Martin Minchev will play in the red jersey. The 19-year-old player moves to Sparta from Cherno More Varna team, he has also played for the Bulgarian national team. He signed up a contract in Sparta until June 2024.
184 centimetres tall footballer’s position is striker or winger. He has grown up in Varna. He has started his professional career there and played the first league game the day after his sixteenth birthday. He has become the youngest league player in the history of Varna and since then he has played for his team regularly. At the age of seventeen, he was on trial in the Italian FC Torino. He played one training match and scored a hat-trick. However, he returned to Bulgaria. Martin scored six goals in twenty-one league matches in the current season.
Minchev was a key player of the Bulgarian national youth teams and at the age of nineteen he already played four matches for the first team of Bulgaria. Among other things, he played the half-time of the qualifying match for the European Championships against the Czech Republic. By the way, the match was played last June at Letná.
According Tomáše Rosický, Martin is very versatile and talented player: "The coach can use him in all offensive positions on the pitch. In the future, he could be very valuable for us. What is very important - he is not just talented, he is also very good motivated and hard working. That's exactly the kind of plyer we want to have in Sparta!"
