First 0-0 match in the season

Head coach Václav Kotal could not use 11 players. Čelůstka, Štetina, Hložek, Fortelný and Wiesner were out due to injuries. Polidar, Karlsson a Plavšić have medical problems Pavelka, LK37 and Souček were booked.

The Spartan coach sent seventeen-year-old centre-back Martin Vitík to the league match for the first time. Martin Minchev played the first league game from the opening minutes in our jersey.

Sparta's first chance came in the second minute. Minchev fought the ball and passed to Lukáš Juliš. Julda tried it from a distance but missed the goal.

The home team's first opportunity came after 15 minutes. Holzer fired from the long range but did not surprise Nita. Two minutes later, Laco Krejčí found Dávid Hancko's head from a free kick. Our centre back overshot.

With 20 minutes played, Laco Krejčí tried to chop Laštůvka by a heel just behind the box. However, the goalie pushed the ball to the corner.

Five minutes later came huge chance of the home team. After the cross by Tetour, De Azevedo ended in the box. Fortunately, the best shooter of Ostrava overshot. Shortly afterwards, Hancko stopped Tetour's shot from similar position.

No more happened and the first half ended without goals. Shortly after the start of the second half, Baník managed to lock Sparta down in the box for a while. However, Sparta did not let the home team shoot.

In the next twenty minutes, we did not see any chance. Then Juliš tried it but his shot was blocked by Baník's defence to the corner.

A moment later, De Azevedo fired from about 25 meters, but his shot missed the target.

In the 79^th minute Stronati headed after the corner. Fortunately, he missed the right post.

In the 82^nd minute, Sparta had the best chance of the match. Vindheim run on the right side, crossed to the small box, where Juliš headed. Unfortunately, he also missed the target.

Sparta drew 0-0 in Ostrava in the first league match of 2021.
