On Thursday, both teams played the European Cups. Sparta in the Europa League at Brøndby, Jablonec in the Conference League against Cluj. Sparta head coach Pavel Vrba sent forward Václav Drchal to the line-up for the first time in the season. Vindheim played on the right side of the defence, Wiesner on the left. Hložek operated as an offensive midfielder. Both Krejčí, Højer, Juliš, Holec, Dočkal and Pulkrab missed the game due to injuries.
Sparta started well. Already in the 4th minute Haraslín got through the Jablonec defence and passed to Drchal. He chopped goalkeeper Hanuš and the ball ended in the net.
In the 8th minute Haraslín fired from a distance, his shot was blocked by the Jablonec defence and it was a corner.
In the 12th minute Wiesner also tried it from a greater distance. His shot ended over the Jablonec goal.
The scorer of the first goal was in the mood. This time Drchal fired through the defender, his attempt blocked on the corner.
In the 24th minute, Haraslín passed well to Hložek in the middle. He fired but the defence blocked his attempt.
After half an hour of play, the guests' first chance came. Kubista found Čvančara in the box and he headed our our goal.
Five minutes before the break, we saw Sparta's huge chance! Hancko passed to Hložek. He prepared the ball in front of the goal and shot. His sharp attempt ended close to the left post. We went to the dressing room with a one-goal lead.
Three minutes after the break, the guests levelled. Krob crossed from the left side into the box to Čvančara and he headed in the net.
In the 56th minute, Jablonec had a break and Pleštil ended. In was a corner and no danger after it.
Six minutes later, it was so close! DMK fired and his cross attempt ended next to the left post. After a minute, Hložek went through several players and fired, unfortunately Hanuš stopped his shot.
Sparta wanted to break the match. Karlsson got Považanec on the ground and fired. Unfortunately, his shot ended next to the right post.
A quarter of an hour before the end came another chance! Karabec fired in the box but Hanuš stopped his good shot near the left post.
In the added time, Hložek finished once more. His shot from a distance missed the left pole. So, Sparta drew with Jablonec 1-1.
