Spartan's coach Pavel Vrba made four changes in comparison to the last game against Zlín during the weekend. Holec, Haraslín, Souček and Karabec were replaced by Heča, Pešek, Sáček and Dočkal. Juliš, Pulkrab, Čelůstka, Panák and Karabec were not available for this match due to health problems.
Teams understood the importance of this game, so the play was careful and patient from both sides. None of the teams wanted to make a mistake. Therefore, we did not see any bigger chance till the 35th minute when Jablonec did a fast counter-attack. Pilař sent a direct long pass to Malinský, who did not miss at the good position, 0-1.
Hložek tried to do something with the result in the 43rd minute, however, his shot was blocked by one of the defenders. The same player was also active two minutes later. His attempt was hit by Hanuš and headed only in front of him. Čvančara was ready for it and easily scored to the empty net, 1-1.
Pešek was going alone to Hanuš a few seconds later, but the away goalkeeper ran out of the goal and made an important save for his team. What a good chance. It was the last interesting moment in the first half.
Sparta started the second part of the game in a great way. The signal from the corner worked perfectly while Dočkal found empty LK37 who scored without any problems, 1-2.
Jablonec had a corner-kick in the 50th minute and the score changed again. There was an unclear situation after which the ball ended in Kratochvíl's feet and his shot went through everything on its way, 2-2.
Sparta's goalkeeper had to make a save six minutes later. There was another corner from the away team after this situation. Hübschman forwarded the long ball by a header to the further post. Štěpánek jumped there and scored inside the uncovered goal, 2-3.
Hancko could tie the game in the 71st minute, but Hanuš saved his team.
Spartans did their best to equalize the match. This goal was reached in the additional time, again after the corner-kick. Dočkal found Minčev's head and Hanuš could not keep his attempt, he only hit it. Čvančara found the right spot again and scored, 3-3. The semi-finals of the MOL Cup are played only for one match. Therefore, extra time was following.
Adam Hložek showed amazing individual action and scored a magnificent goal, 4-3.
Hložek with a great shot in the 104th minute. It was not missing a lot.
Souček could add the confirmatory goal in the 113th minute, but his shot was blocked by Hanuš to the post and then it came back to the away goalkeeper. It was the last interesting moment in the match. Sparta won 4-3 and will play the final of the MOL Cup!
