The club has made adjustments to the coaching staff under Danish head coach Lars Friis. First assistant Jens Askou has left the team, with development coach and assistant Michal Vávra stepping into his role.
„This decision was made after careful and thorough analysis. It wasn’t easy for us. Jens is a good coach and a great person. He played an important role, particularly in securing our Champions League qualification, especially in the matches against Malmö. However, we determined that one of the main reasons for the high number of goals conceded during the autumn was our defensive organization. Michal Vávra has made significant progress, becoming an excellent coach, and we’ve decided to give him this opportunity,” explained Tomáš Rosický at the press conference.
Ahead of the holidays, the club announced the signing of defender Emmanuel Uchenna from Baník Ostrava. Adam Ševínský and Patrik Vydra, returning from loan spells in Liberec and Mladá Boleslav, will also join the first team for the winter training camp.
On the other hand, Dalibor Večerka will not continue with Sparta, as the club finalizes details of his move to Teplice. Experienced midfielder and multiple national team player David Pavelka will move to the B-team, where he will mentor young, talented players.
On Tuesday, the team will head to Marbella for their training camp to fine-tune their form ahead of the remaining two matches in the Champions League and the start of the spring Chance Liga season. The final roster for the camp will be announced on Tuesday before departure.
