We do not view Saturday’s events at Slavia stadium as an isolated incident, but as the culmination of a long-term, multi-layered atmosphere of hostility towards our club. As recently as the March derby, examples included Simon Deli chanting “Smrt Spartě (Death to Sparta)” during the pre-match programme and aggressive behaviour by a member of the opposition’s staff towards one of our players.
Fans, players and members of the coaching staff must not feel concerned for their safety, health or lives at the stadium.
AC Sparta Praha is providing, and will continue to provide, full cooperation to all relevant authorities in the investigation of Saturday’s incidents.
