We travelled to Groupama Stadium on Tuesday evening looking to defend our one-goal advantage from the first leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. Our lead disappeared in the 20th minute when Jakub Surovčík could only parry the ball into the path of Ernest Nuamah, who finished from close range. Fifteen minutes later, we were reduced to ten men as Adam Ševínský was sent off following his challenge on Lois Openda. Olympique completed the turnaround in the second half, with goals from Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Tyler Morton sealing victory for the hosts. We will therefore play in the UEFA Europa League league phase this autumn.
