Sparta beat FC Vysočina Jihlava 1-0 thanks to a goal by Guélor Kanga in the 81st minute of the 28th league round. It's the first away win since October 2017.
Martin Frýdek was unable to play against Jihlava due to four yellow cards and Costa took his place and started from the opening minute as a left defender. Václav Kadlec was back in the starting XI after he was unable to play last week due to an illness.
Stanciu and Kanga both had a good shooting opportunity in the first ten minutes of play but they didn't hit the target and Jihlava’s midfielder Jozef Urblík made it the same in 12th minute as he missed the target with two shots during one minute.
The first real chance of the game was in the 16th minute when Josef Šural passed the ball after the counter attack but Václav Kadlec was unable to reach the ball before a goal.
Václav was in another opportunity three minutes later when he had a shooting opportunity after the pass from Costa but he didn’t hit the target with his left footed volley. Unfortunately, Václav had to make a way from the pitch just before the halftime due to injury and David Lafata took his place.
Sparta had first two opportunities after the break but goalkeeper made a save firstly and denied Lafata and Šural missed the target with a header a couple of seconds later.
On the other side of the pitch, Costa had to defend dangerous cross from the left side and Ikaunikes headed the ball over the bar after next cross.
Jihlava responded with dangerous crosses but Sparta defended it well before Ikaunieks hit the crossbar and post with a shot after the corner kick in the 52nd minute.
Both teams had chances in the next minutes but players were unable to convert chances. Šural was very close 69th minute but he missed the target with a header and Fulnek had two chances in ten seconds but Sparta players blocked both his shots from a close range.
Sparta finally beat the defensive line in the 81st minute of the match as Guélor Kanga tried to shot from a distance for fifth or sixth time of this match and this one was successful as goalkeeper Rakovan couldn’t save it. 1-0 to Sparta.
