After a year and a half on loan, Kryštof Daněk is making a permanent move to Linz. Following a season in which he celebrated a domestic double with LASK, the Austrian club has exercised its option to sign the 23-year-old midfielder on a permanent deal.
Daněk, a product of Sigma's academy, joined Sparta in the summer of 2022. He made an immediate impact by scoring in his very first league appearance against Liberec and became a regular in Brian Priske’s starting line-up during the autumn campaign. At the end of the season, he celebrated winning the Czech league title with his teammates. He then spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Pardubice.

His successful spell in eastern Bohemia earned him a place in Sparta’s starting XI at the beginning of the following season, where he played a role in the club’s successful qualification for the Champions League. However, an injury forced him to watch the latter part of the autumn campaign from the stands, and in February he joined LASK on loan until the end of the season.
Kryštof enjoyed a successful spell in Upper Austria, which led to an extension of his stay for the entire 2024/25 campaign. He went on to make 24 league appearances and three more in the Austrian Cup. He played his part in a historic achievement for the club, as the Schwarz-Weißen went on to win both domestic competitions. It ended LASK’s long wait for silverware, with the club securing its first trophies since the 1964/65 double. LASK have now exercised their option to make the transfer permanent.
Thank you, Kryštof, and best of luck in Austria!
