Long-serving AC Sparta Prague Communications Director Ondřej Kasík will become the club’s Director of External Relations on July 1. The newly created position will report directly to the club’s Board of Directors. On the same date, current spokesperson Pavel Jína will take over as Head of Communications, while Václav Talácko will succeed him as the club’s spokesperson.
The Director of External Relations will be responsible, among other things, for representing the club in dealings with selected football institutions, strategic planning, and developing relationships with supporters (including oversight of the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer project), municipalities, and public authorities.

“The changing landscape of football brings new responsibilities and new challenges for our club. We have decided to respond to the growing need for communication with a broader range of stakeholders, including government officials, legislators, representatives of local authorities, and others. That is why we have created the new position of Director of External Relations. I am pleased that we are able to fill this demanding role from within our own organization and would like to congratulate Ondřej Kasík, who has our full confidence. At the same time, I would also like to congratulate Pavel Jína and Václav Talácko on their career progression,” said AC Sparta Prague Executive Vice-Chairman František Čupr.

“I would like to thank Sparta for its trust; I truly appreciate it. In recent years, the responsibilities of the Communications Department have extended far beyond media relations. This has included representing Sparta before the LFA Disciplinary Committee, working with supporters, representing the club before the Security Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, and maintaining contact with legislators. In that respect, this move is a logical and natural development,” said Ondřej Kasík, a graduate of Media Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University.

Kasík has been part of the club’s structure since 2009. For more than 17 years, he has served as Communications Director, overseeing media relations and cooperation with UEFA in the organization of international competitions together with his team.
Newly appointed Head of Communications Pavel Jína, who joined AC Sparta Prague from Škoda Auto in 2024, will be responsible for the club’s day-to-day media operations and public communications alongside his colleagues. Václav Talácko has been appointed as the club’s new spokesperson. He has spent the last two years working in Sparta’s Communications Department as a Communications Specialist.
“We are ensuring continuity within the Communications Department while promoting colleagues who know the club and its environment inside out. Both Pavel Jína and Václav Talácko are true professionals and deserve further development within the club that we all love,” said Kasík.
“Personally, I feel there is no greater communications challenge in the Czech Republic than Sparta. That is due to the breadth of the role, the pressure involved, and the need for speed and accuracy that comes with the job. It is a tremendous honour and responsibility towards both our supporters and the entire organization,” said Pavel Jína.
“For me, the role of spokesperson represents the next chapter in what has so far been a five-year journey with the club. Football has shaped me since childhood, but it was only at Sparta that I experienced the very best that Czech football has to offer. I would like to thank the club’s management and all my colleagues, not only within the Communications Department, for their guidance and trust as I take this next step in my professional career,” said Václav Talácko.
