Imanol joined Sparta in July 2024 from Athletic Club. He made three appearances in our jersey before suffering a serious knee injury following a challenge with Adam Kadlec in the 20th minute of a match against Bohemians. The Spanish defender subsequently underwent surgery and faced several months of rehabilitation.
He returned to action before the end of the season, playing one half for Sparta B in a victory over league leaders Zlín. However, he did not feature again for the first team and instead moved to Andorra on loan. During his time with the Spanish second-tier side, he made 26 competitive appearances, recording one goal and one assist.
