Win at the start of pre-season
Sparta won the first pre-season match. At Strahov, we met České Budějovice for the fourth time in the season and we won 1-0 after Andreas Vindheim's goal. Adam Karabec and Matěj Polidar debuted in our first team. Sixteen-year-old talent even ran to the pitch with the captain's tape.
Head coach Vaclav Jilek used 22 players. From the first half, he sent the following line-up to the pitch: Nita – Vindheim, Štetina, Krejčí, Hanousek – Polidar, Mandjeck, Kanga, Sáček, Karabec – Tetteh.
Sparta had the first chance in the 5th minute. Tetteh passed to Matěj Polidar, who quickly fired. But the Spartan debutant missed the goal. Seven minutes later, Kanga found Vindheim by cross over the pitch. Vindheim’s attempt was blocked by the defense to the corner.
The first goal came in the 16th minute. Andreas Vindheim scored after the corner kick by a smart header over the goalkeeper Křížek.
After twenty minutes, Patrik Brandner was alone in front of Nita. Fortunately, he could not get the ball into the net. The guests had another chance ten minutes later. First, Čavoš fired from a distance. His attempt missed Nita's goal. A moment later, Dynamo kicked a corner.
Benjemin Tetteh took the ball after 37 minutes of the game and he went to the box. However, one of the defenders stole the ball just before finish. Two minutes before the break Adam Karabec was waiting in a small box, but unfortunately missed the ball. Sparta led by a goal lead after the first half.
Sparta came to the second half with completely different line-up in the formation 4-4-2: Heča - Zahustel, Kaya, Costa, Frýdek - Graiciar, Trávník, Fortelný, Plavšić - Juliš, Kozák.
Jan Fortelný returned from loan and he tried it the 51st minute. He fired from the distance. Jan passed five minutes later to Plavšić. His shot ended by a corner kick.
On the other hand, Plavšić again took the role of an assistant when he placed the ball on the head of Kozák from the left side. Goalkeeper Křížek pushed to the corner. In the 73rd minute, Martin Frýdek from the box. The shot went over the goal. Ten minutes before the end, Michal Trávník got into the penalty area after a nice individual action. Unfortunately, his shot missed the goal.
The last two chances were seen at the very end. At first, Kozák shot in the box and his attempt was blocked to the corner. In the 90th minute, Kozák sent Lukáš Juliš to solo. It was probably offside. However, the referee hadn’t stop the action and little bit surprised Lukáš didn’t use the chance.
Sparta won the first pre-season match 1- 0 over České Budějovice.
