After the end of the autumn season, there is a change in the key position in ACS Sports structure. Zdeněk Ščasný will not continue as a Sports Director. Tomáš Rosický will be a new head of Sports structure. Ščasný remains as first team head coach.
The structure is set as the traditional vertical management. Head coach is responsible to the Sports Director. He presents the results of his work to the CEO František Čupr or to the Board of Directors.
Zdeněk Ščasný will be responsible for the preparation of first team and coaching, Tomáš Rosický for the sports strategy of the club. The Sports Director will then manage Sparta's transfers on the transfer market. The CEO František Čupr is the highest executive of the club.
"Tomáš is in a new position with a strong mandate. He becomes a Sports Director with the support of the Board of Directors. His role is key to Sparta's further direction. He has a clear vision and a perfect knowledge of the football in the Czech Republic and Europe," says CEO František Čupr.
Former top player of the Czech team, Sparta, Dortmund and Arsenal ended his active career twelve months ago. Since then he has been in the position of advisor to the club board and sports manager. "Tomáš is ready to be a Sports Director," says CEO František Čupr.
Tomáš Rosický, with the support of the Board of Directors, made the first key decision after the end of the autumn season: Zdeněk Ščasný remains as the head coach. "At the beginning of this season, I said that we might need more time to stabilize the team. Unfortunately it was fulfilled. My decision, and I am in agreement with the CEO and the Board of Directors, is that we will not change the head coach, "says Tomáš Rosický.
