A Different Version of Yourself

Albion Rrahmani on his form at the start of the season – and more

Share

He's entering his second season at Letná, and the start couldn't be better. Three goals in last 162 competitive minutes – and now he's preparing with the team for the third qualifying round against Ararat. Albion Rrahmani opened up not only about the beginning of the new campaign, but also about the lessons learned from last season and a minor procedure he had to undergo at the start of pre-season.
Firstly, an obvious question. You have three goals from the last three matches. Are you getting on fire?
I hope so. I said before that I just needed time to show my full potential. It maybe took a bit longer than expected, but now I feel great, more confident. I’m feeling better with myself. I just hope I can keep this form and push myself in every single game.
How would you sum up the start of the season from your perspective?
We didn’t start well in the first two matches, but we took the feedback and experience from those games and improved. We are playing more with the ball, which suits us more. Every player is giving his best, and that’s the key. If we keep this up and continue playing good football, the rest will follow.
The first two matches were a bit bumpy, especially the match in Aktobe. Have you ever travelled that far for a football match?
Only once, when we had a national team match in Armenia. That flight was maybe one hour shorter. But yeah, it was far. We were tired, and the conditions didn’t really help our style. In my career I played on worse pitches in Kosovo, but this was really something. Heavy rain, water all over the pitch. We couldn’t really show our quality. However, I always had in my mind that at home, we will destroy them. And we did, we dominated every aspect of the game.
