Coach Václav Jílek sent Martin Hašek to the basic line-up. He surprisingly replaced Srdjan Plavšić on the left wing. Slavia's line-up included several former Spartans, including Nicolae Stanciu.
There were no chances at the beginning. Sparta was active, but didn't get to the attempts. Slavia tried it only by Stanciu in the first ten minutes. His shot out of the box was not dangerous.
In the fifteenth minute came a first really dangerous action of the match. Stanciu sent the ball to Coufal, who went through Hanousek and fired but missed the target.
In the 18th minute Frýdek fouled Souček in the box and it was a clear penalty for Slavia. Unfortunately, Souček sent the guests to the lead.
For a while Hušbauer crossed to the box and there was free Olayinka. But his attempt went out of the goal. Hušbauer tried it technically in the 37th minute but he fired just over the crossbar.
Then came Sparta's greatest of the first half. Hanousek crossed and the ball went to Martin Frýdek inside the box. He shot but Kolář saved.
At the end of the half, we had a chance to equalize. But Slavia goalie miraculously pulled out the great header by Hašek.
At the start of the second half, Tetteh offered a ball to free Kanga. He fired from his favourite position in front of the box, just missed the goal.
Subsequently Slavia locked our players on their side of the pitch and the second goal came. After a series of crosses to the box, Olayinka shot, hit Sáček and the ball bounced of him to the goal.
In the 66th minute Josef Hušbauer fouled Tetteh in the middle of the pitch and saw the second yellow card.
In 72nd minute Plavšić tried it from the distance and Kolář pulled the ball to the corner. Ten minutes before the end, a red card came also for Spartan. Tetteh lost the ball and then fouled one of Slavia players. The referee did not hesitate and immediately showed Tetteh the red.
In the 86th minute, came a little hope. Unfortunately, even the greatest chance was not enough. Plavšić went to Kolář from half of the pitch, but then sent the ball directly to Slavia goalkeeper.
On the other hand, Slavia added another goal in the 90th minute when Masopust chopped Heča.
Sparta lost 0-3 in derby.
