“Despite his young age, Matyáš is a confident and productive forward with a good sense of positioning in the penalty area. He is effective in pressing and able to react very quickly after losing possession. We believe that, thanks to his profile and attributes, he has the potential to develop into a complete centre-forward,” says sporting director Tomáš Rosický.

The Prague native spent most of his youth career with Slavoj Vyšehrad, where he also got his first taste of senior football. At the age of eighteen, the talented striker caught the attention of Mladá Boleslav, from where he went on a brief half-season loan to second-division side Varnsdorf.
Vojta made his debut in the Czech top flight on 2 September 2023 against Baník Ostrava. Since then, he has scored 17 goals in 44 league appearances. Sparta fans will surely remember the recent matches against Mladá Boleslav, in which the 21-year-old forward scored a total of three goals against us, with a fourth ruled out for offside.

Vojta has also gained experience in European football thanks to Mladá Boleslav’s participation in last season’s UEFA Conference League. From the league phase, one notable match was against Real Betis, where Boleslav were trailing 0:1 at home. Within three minutes, however, goals from Vojta and Patrik Vydra, who was there on loan at the time, turned the match around and secured a valuable victory over the Spanish side.
Vojta’s recent performances have not gone unnoticed by Czech U21 head coach Michal Bílek. In four of the five qualification matches for the U21 European Championship, Sparta’s new signing featured in the starting lineup under the legendary former midfielder. Vojta contributed to the team’s current second place in the group not only with a goal against Gibraltar.
Maty, welcome to Letná and the best of luck in our shirt!
