Sparta fought hard against Příbram’s well-working defence, but the home side resisted only 70 minutes, before David Lafata scored the game winner.
Apart from Mario Holek, Bořek Dočkal was missing as well, due to problems with his ribs after the last Champions League game in Malmö. Ladislav Krejčí therefore started as a left winger, while Tomáš Přikryl moved to the right.
Sparta had three huge chances in the first half. After nine minutes of play, Krejčí interrupted Zápotočný’s back pass, but only hit the post of the home goal.
A couple of minutes later, Hušbauer made his way to the box, but the home side’s goalkeeper Boháč made two great saves against Krejčí’s and Lafata’s efforts.
Příbram were in no hurry, concentrating mainly on defence and waiting for Sparta’s mistakes. Řezníček failed in their biggest chance of the game, shooting from a sharp angle and getting denied by Bičík.
After seventy minutes of play, Krejčí broke free on the left and David Lafata scored the only goal of the game after a brilliant pass to the box. After seven strikes in the Champions League, it was the captain’s first goal in the SYNOT Liga this season.
