Head coach Václav Kotal made two changes in the line-up. Costa was replaced by Štetina, who returned after four yellow cards. Krejčí was replaced by Trávník because of eight yellow cards.
The first big chance of the match came in the sixth minute. Bořek Dočkal found Hancko with his pass. Hanci, (how did he get there?!) was in the position of a forward striker. He fired from out of the box but aimed just above.
Otherwise, the first twenty minutes of the match did not bring a chance. The “kangaroos” entered to the match with defensive tactics and mainly tried to guard our players. Sparta did not create much opportunities and the match took place in the middle of the field.
The home team played very hard, the darker yellow cards were given to Mosquera and Hronek during the first half hour. Just after the second foul, we got a chance to play a direct kick from some 22 meters. Hancko fired but the ball missed the goal quite significantly.
In the 38th minute came an interesting opportunity for Sparta. Hložek sent to Dočkal in the box, he offered it a bit complicated ball to Sáček, who fired. Frýdek touched the ball in front of the goal, but missed the target. Thirty seconds before the end of the half, Hložek tried shot from the right wing but Valeš was ready.
Kanga had his first chance in the second half after ten minutes. Hložek offered the ball on the edge of the box to the Gabonese midfielder, who fired from the first. Unfortunately, his attempt aimed about a meter and a half outside the left post of Valeš’s goal.
In the 61st minute, Hložek got a long pass from Frýdek, then immediately crossed to the box. Karlsson headed in an ideal position, but the ball did not hit well and aimed over. Such a pitty.
In the 70th minute, the home team had a first chance. Vodháněl found Hronek near the back post , and he did not get the ball perfectly, but still managed to shoot. Heča pushed the ball to the corner. Osmančík headed dangerously after that.
Immediately came another Sparta chance, Štetina sent a long high ball into the opponent's penalty area, where was Karlsson. Unfortunately, the ball jumped and he did not end.
In the 84th minute, Kanga passed to Dočkal, who served passed to Tetteh, who scored in the fall. Line referee immediately showed that Dočkal was offside. However, the video subsequently showed that it was not an offside and the goal was valid!
In the end, we managed to stay in the lead and as only the second team in the current season, we won in Ďolíček! We came so close to the third Liberec for a difference of only two points!
