Head coach Václav Kotal let several players like Bořek Dočkal or Michal Sáček rest. Vindheim, Hanousek, Nita or Adam Karabec replaced them. Karabec played in the line-up for the first time.
The spectators saw the opening goal in the eighth minute. Karlsson led the ball into the middle of the field and fired. However, his long-range attempt did not cause problems for goalkeeper Fendrich.
In the eleventh minute, we have seen a wonderful Spartan action. Vindheim passed to Karabec, who moved to Karlsson. He then addressed to Kozák. The Sparta striker did not hesitate and overtook Fendrich with a low shot. So we led after the first serious action!

Immediately after that, Kanga found Kozák with a long ball behind the defence. Kozák was face to face Fendrich. Instead of a shot, he passed to Karlsson, who ended up, but the Opava goalkeeper saved.
The guests got a chance after 66 minutes. The ball bounced off Štetina to Žídek and then to the post. , due to a defensive blunder leaving Štetiny completely unmarked. Štetina then cleared the situation.
When Opava could equalize, Sparta struck for a second time. Adam Karabec showed great football! After the combination with Hložek, he got through Schaffartzik and addressed to Frýdek. He cleared the ball with a help of one of the guests!
On the other side, Juřena immediately fired dangerously but just to the side net.
In the 84th minute, Hložek was in action again. He really wanted to score. The ball fell to him in the middle of the field, Adam went forward and finally fired. But he missed the goal again.
