Adam Karabec started in the Sparta first team in this spring, scored first league goal and also signed up a new contract. So 16-year-old talented player should stay at Letná until 2023. "I am glad that I have gained the trust and I can improve every day in a club like Sparta," Adam said after signing a new contract.
Karabec came to Sparta from the Bohemians youth and he surprised experts already in the youth categories with his technical skills and overview of the game. He played perfectly at the prestigious All Stars Cup or CEE Cup tournaments. In the beginning of the season, sixteen-year-old offensive midfielder moved to the team U19, during the autumn he joined the reserves and has been a part of the first team since the spring. At first, he only trained with first team, but now he also gets on the league stadiums. In the current season, he played seven league matches. He needed just a minute to become the third youngest scorer in a history of the Czech league. On Saturday, he played against Liberec and sent a beautiful pass to Martin Frýdek and it was Sparta's fourth goal in the end.
So now, by signing a new contract, both sides have confirmed that Adam's next future will be in a red jersey! "Adam is our great talent. There is still a long way in front of him to become an important player of the first team but we give him time and space for it. We are happy that we can give our youth players a chance. It’s an important part of our concept to integrate talented players to the first team," Tomáš Rosický said about signing the contract.
"Of course, we want to play European Cups, I also want to win the title here. I want to repay Sparta for the trust. I am very happy that I already have a chance and I hope there will be even more space in the future," Karabec said about the plans for the future.
Adam follows up on his namesake Hložek, who also got a place in the Sparta first team at the age of sixteen and currently is one of the most important players of the team: “Adam is a great example for me that it can happen at such a young age. It's not common but Adam is proof that it is possible."
"I definitely still have to work on strength to play better in the adult football. At the same time, I have to gain match experiences. I hope to get them with chances on the pitch," Adam Karabec knows his current weaknesses.
Adam, good luck in Sparta in the years to come and we hope to have a great time together!
