Head coach Václav Kotal made only one change in the line-up. Injured Lukáš Štetina was replaced by Dominik Plechatý. For the first time, Ladislav "Laco" Krejčí and goalkeeper Dominik Holec were prepared on the bench.
In the opening quarter of an hour, both teams played without chances. Sparta had the first opportunity in the 15th minute. Hložek crossed from the left side to Vindheim. Unfortunately, he did not get to the ball.
Immediately, after that, Vindheim crossed, LK37 headed, but Bolek stopped his attempt. Sparta was active and three minutes later, Dočkal's offered a ball to Adam Hložek but he headed over the goal.
A deja-vu came in the 23rd minute when the home team took the lead as well as during the last match in Karviná. This time even from the first opportunity. Ostrák fired, Heča bounced the ball just to Papadopulos which scored to the opened goal.
Three minutes later, Sparta could answer. Dočkal crossed from the free kick, found Hložek's head but this time Hložan aimed over.
And then it was even worse. After 28 minutes, Bartošák crossed and Lischka scored an own goal! Although it took a few minutes, fortunately Sparta managed to come back after this direct even in the first half.
Four minutes before the break, Vindheim passed to Hložek in the box, Hložan freed himself from the defender and fired. The first league goal of the season for an eighteen-year-old striker!
And it did not end just with one goal! In the added time, Twardzik fouled Hložek in the box and referee Proske ordered a penalty. Captain Bořek Dočkal fired and the goalkeeper Bolek went to the right side, but Bořek was successful! So 2-2 in the half-time.
Six minutes after the break, Papadopulos could score again. This time, his header after cross by Bartošák went out of the goal. A minute later, Hložek run away from Twardzik and was looking for Vindheim. But the defenders did not let Andy fire on the goal.
Fortunately, Sparta did not have to regret it. Two minutes later, Lischka repaid his own goal, when he found a free LK37 by a fantastic cross to the box. LK37 Krejčí scored his first goal in Sparta!
And Sparta didn't wait long for another hit. It was a great individual action by Adam Hložek. He went with a ball to the box, also this time freed from a defender and fired near the post!
Twenty minutes before the end, we have seen a big comeback. After four years, Ladislav "Laco" Krejčí, which has grown up in Sparta, started in the red jersey after four years.
A quarter of an hour before the end, Juliš fired in the box, but the defence blocked his attempt to the corner. A moment later, Julda left the pitch. This time he did not scored any goal. But it was not enough for Sparta! Laco Krejčí did not wait long for a point. He found Kozák from the right side by a great pass and Libor fired eight minutes before the end without a hesitation!
After a big turnover, Sparta defeated Karvina 5-2. We are on the first place after the complete round for the first time since August 21, 2016.
