It was the first derby for head coach Pavel Vrba. He made two changes in the line-up after Wednesday cup duel. Florin Nita returned to the goal. Dávid Hancko replaced Polidar on the left side of the defense. Libor Kozák, Adam Karabec, Lukáš Juliš, Lukáš Štetina could not play due to health reasons.
Sparta's first chance came in the 5th minute. After a corner kick, Martin Vitík headed on the back post, he missed in a difficult position. A minute later, Adam Hložek had a big chance after Hancko's pass, but Kolář kicked his shot out!
In the 10th minute, LK37 ended in the box but Kolář stopped his attempt. Shortly afte that, Hložek missed the right post from the small box.
In the 13th minute, Slavia had a first chance. Stanciu fired from a distance and missed the left post.
Our next chance came in the 25th minute. Captain Dočkal tried it from a distance and his shot was stopped by Kolář. Then Hancko got to the ball and went through the defenders along the goal line. He was face to face to Kolář but did not pass.
In the last minute of the first half, Holeš fired from the box line and his technically twisted shot ended in our net near the left post.
Although Sparta had more chances, it was 1-0 for home team after the first 45 minutes.
Slavia controlled the rest of the match and did not let Sparta score.
In the 67th minute. Nita stopped Linger’s shot from a distance.
The home team had another opportunity in the 75th minute. After the free kick from the right, Kacharaba headed above the goal.
Ten minutes before the end, Tecl turned around in the box and fired under the bar. In the end of the match, Karlsson found only Kolář's gloves by the shooting cross.
Sparta lost the 298th derby 0-2.
