Head coach Pavel Vrba sent Martin Vitík to the pitch as centre-back. Sáček, Souček, Dočkal operated in the middle of the field. Adam Hložek was our striker. Štetina, Čelůstka, Højer, Juliš, both Krejčí and Heča did not play due to health reasons.
Sparta was a more active team from the beginning. We were waiting a long time for a chance, but our lead came was from the first serious opportunity. In the 23rd minute, Hancko got almost to the goal line, looked around and saw Hložek. He sent him the ball to the box and Hložek opened the score after the shot near the right post.
Sparta had a great chance in the 38th minute. Hancko sent Hložek forward by a fantastic pass. Hložek run alone to the goalkeeper, fired but missed the far post. So, it was 1-0 for Sparta after the first half.
The first 15 minutes of the second half offered a similar picture of the game as in the first half. Sparta was a more active team, but the chances did not come on either side. In the 61st minute, Sáček tried it from a distance but aimed too high.
In the 69th minute, Sparta had two chances in a short sequence. At first, Hložek's shot in the box was perfectly stopped by Neuman. Then Karviná goalkeeper also pushed out a shot by Hancko.
A quarter of an hour before the end, Pešek found David Pavelka in the box by a great cross and he increased our lead by a header.
In the added time, Papadopoulos got the ball to the net bur it was offside.
Sparta defeated Karvina 2-0 and leads the league with nine points and a score 10-2. Florin Nita did not concede a goal for the second time in a row in the league.
