After a disappointing 0-2 loss in Liberec last week, Sparta wanted to catch up with the league leader Plzeň, especially when our opponent in the championship race was defeated by Slavia on Saturday. After a hattrick by David Lafata Sparta are only two points behind Viktoria Plzeň at the moment.
The first minutes of the match pretty much reminded more than 8 thousands spectators of Sparta’s performances in the last couple of games. The players seemed nervous, unable to create a stable pressure with goal chances.
But it was the home side to entertain the audience anyway. Kadlec only hit the opposition’s goalkeeper Miller, after he was found by Krejčí, unmarked in the box. Matějovský’s lob went over the crossbar just a couple of minutes after.
Just when it seemed the first half would end, Krejčí crossed the ball from the left and Lafata opened the score with a lucky header. 1-0!
The goal meant a huge energy boost for the home side in the second half and they soon scored the second goal. Vácha crossed the ball from a free kick and Jarošík widened the gap with another header. 2-0!
As Sparta players were on top, Mladá Boleslav could not resist. David Lafata found a lovely through pass and scored his second goal of the match from a breakaway. 3-0! Lafata scored another one until the final whistle, after Krejčí’s brilliant cross from a fast attack, and scored a hattrick.
