2003-2024: Modern Sparta

While Sparta clearly dominated the domestic scene in the 1990s, that changed in the first years of the new millennium. Successes in the league came at first, but Sparta could no longer defend the title. She has become champion four times in the last 15 years, which seems like a retreat from glory after previous hegemony. This is also underlined by Sparta's non-participation in the Champions League since 2005. On the other hand, Sparta made it to the spring phase of the Europa League four times, where they even made it to the top eight.

A goal, definitely. But we'll score. Don't worry.

Ideal 11

The team was selected by the chairman of the Club of Sports Journalists and co-author of the book Železná Sparta Zdeněk Pavlis.

Even in the freshest era of its existence, Sparta recorded many domestic and European successes. However, with the further expansion of football and the strengthening of smaller clubs, they naturally decreased. That's why our optimal eleven is made up of a mix of footballers who have played for Sparta over the past fifteen years.
