Sparta managed to win even the last pre-season match, defeating Energie Cottbus away 6-2. Marco Paixao was the main man, scoring three times in the first half. Sparta are undefeated this summer.
Sparta started strong in Cottbus, with Marco Paixao opening the score only two minutes into the match. Dočkal found him unmarked in the box and the Portugese striker made no mistake.
Paixao could add his second straight away, but he was denied by Lück from the breakaway, and so it was the home side to score. Hübener found the ball in front of the ball in a crowded area and beat Bičík to level the score.
However, Sparta took the lead back soon. Lück could not hold Dočkal’s cross from the right and Paixao had an easy job, hitting the empty net.
After Sven Michel hit the post from the counter attack, Paixao finished his hattrick. Energie players made a mistake on their own half and Krejčí found Marco in front of the empty goal.
Paixao had also managed to assist, passing the ball to Fatai in the first minutes of the second half. The Nigerian striker finally appeared on the pitch after an injury, and proved he’s back even stronger.
Breitkreuz scored Energie’s second after 66 minutes of play, but that was it for the home team.
Josef Hušbauer and Michal Breznaník scored at the very end of the match to set the final score.
