Imanol joined Sparta in July 2024 from Athletic Club. He made three appearances in our jersey before suffering a serious knee injury in the 20th minute of the August clash against Bohemians, following a challenge with Adam Kadlec. The Spanish defender had to undergo surgery and a lengthy recovery.
He managed to return before the end of the season, playing one half for the B-team in a win over league leaders Zlín. However, he didn’t feature again for the first team.
