Sparta is playing the last match in the group stage of Europa League against Brøndby. The game is scheduled for Thursday 9th of December at 6:45 p.m. in Letná in Prague. This match is very important because both teams can still qualify for the spring rounds of Europa Conference League. The press conference took place a day before the game. Sparta's coach Pavel Vrba and LK37 were talking about the match, the situation in group A and the opponent.
LK37
About expectations from tomorrow's match: “We are looking forward to this match. We know what we are playing for, and we have a clear goal tomorrow – to win and pass to the next stage. We want to focus on our play and be better than our opponent.”
About Brøndby's style: “We were practicing offensive and defensive situations during the week in reaction to their style. We know what to expect.”
About the atmosphere in the team: “I think it is very good all season long, but the last two wins surely helped us to grow it.”
About the style of the play against Brøndby while knowing one point is enough: “I want to win every match and it is going to be the same also tomorrow.”
About the last matches played as a center-back and not in an offensive line: “Goals are great, and I am happy to score them. We have a few injured players, so I played as a center-back to help the team. I took it and did it in the best way I could.”
About the free day after Karvina: “We train a lot, so the free day on Sunday was great and I enjoyed it.”
Pavel Vrba
About the strength of Brøndby: “Danish football improves a lot. Brøndby is one of the best teams in the country and does a great job with youth teams. We can see their good work in European cups as well.”
About their style: “I noticed their play is very organized while playing an offensive style. Defensive line supports the offense a lot. I expect something similar also tomorrow. We were studying about them mostly from our first match.”
About the expectations from the match: “We got one point there and we are playing at home now which should be our advantage. I believe we will make it, pass to spring rounds, and people will enjoy it.”
About Pešek's injury: “Pešek is a player who helped us a lot this season. He has been playing with us for the last few days. We will see how he feels tomorrow and then we will decide if he is ready to play or not.”
About the calculation in the match: “I am not sure if it is a huge advantage for us. Everything depends on how it is going to be at the pitch. If we make it, we will go to the next stage. It is our goal to get there. However, we cannot and do not want to calculate with a draw. It is not usually a good idea. But, if there was a draw at the end of the game, it might be more about the tactics from our side, everything depends on the situation during the match.”
About the situation in the group: “Rangers has an, unfortunately, better score than us and we cannot do anything about that. It is already behind us, and we have to focus on tomorrow's game against Brøndby.”
