Sparta head coach Vaclav Kotal started with a line-up; whose average age was 21.6 years. Martin Vitík started for the first time in the line-up. After two years, Tomáš Wiesner played for Sparta. Michal Sáček was ready after covid-19.
AC Milan had the first chance in the third minute. Dalot shot from the corner of a small box. Milan Heča bounced to the corner.

In the 57th minute, Sparta had a great chance. Polidar crossed from the left, then Minchev to LK37 in the box. However, he could not pass the Romanian goalkeeper Tătăruşanu from an angle.
A minute later, Castillejo tried it from 20 meters. Heča stopped his attempt.
Karlsson sent a cross-shot in the box in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he did not hit either the goal or the head of Vitík.
A quarter of an hour before the end, Plechatý fouled Leao and the referee showed him a red card.
In the 80th minute, LK37 fired from a distance. But the ball flew through the goal. A moment later, Juliš tried it in the box. But he also missed.
Sparta's huge chance came in the added time. After the pass by Souček, Karlsson run to the goal, but the goalkeeper stopped his shot. Sparta says goodbye to the Europa League with a close defeat to AC Milan.
