AC Sparta Prague have agreed on terms with a highly experienced former national team player Tomáš Ujfaluši. The defender signed a one-year contract on Thursday.
A 35-year-old defender is returning to the Czech Gambrinus liga after thirteen years spend abroad. He started his career in Sigma Olomouc, playing 100 games for the Moravian side and scoring four goals. After campaigns in Hamburg, Fiorentina, Atlético Madrid and Galatasaray, he is now back home in the Czech Republic.
Ujfaluši is a 2003 German cup winner with Hamburg, 2010 Europa League and Supercup winner with Atlético Madrid. With Galatasaray, he won the Turkish top division twice, and even became the best defender of the competition in the 2011/2012 season. With the Czech Republic national team he won the bronze medal at the EURO 2004 in Portugal.
