Sparta have not won in Hradec Králové since the club from eastern Bohemia returned to the first division. After two losses (1:2 and 0:1) we finally managed to beat them at their own stadium after two strikes by Krejčí.
Leo Kweuke was missing in the startin line-up, as Václav Kadlec played in the attack instead of him. Tomáš Přikryl, who was one of the scorers last time against Jablonec, got a chance as a right winger.
The match started in the worst possible way. Štěpán opened the score with a header after only three minutes of play.
Even though the away side was visibly shocked by the opening goal, they slowly managed to put Hradec Králové under pressure.
Kadlec and Lafata missed in good positions, as Kadlec’s shot was well saved by Lindr and Lafata only hit the post from a close distance.
Sparta levelled the score in the additional time of the first half. Krejčí got the ball in the box after a huge mistake by one of the home team’s defenders and beat Lindr with a wonderful shot – 1-1.
Hradec Králové was focusing mostly on defence in the second half, but managed to create one big chance. A cross from the right side went through the defense and Vaclík was forced to make a great save to keep the hope alive.
And it was Krejč again to secure the three points. After a lovely through pass by Matějovský he put Sparta in front with a powerful shot from a sharp angle.
